Halloween!

Well I was very sick with strep throat, which started right before Halloween, so I am using that as my excuse for just now posting these pics! Since Halloween was on a Sunday this year, everyone in Provo just trick-or-treats on the Saturday before! It's great being by so many members on Holidays like this because the whole community has the same plans! So since it was very nasty outside, rainy and all, and we wanted the experience, but our kids could do without TONS of candy, we opted for the mall trick-or-treating! We've never done this before, but got to go with our "family" (best friends here!) the Greenlands! Jacob and Kalel were Mario and Luigi, and little miss Rain Arielle was Toadette! Ayden and Grecia got the most special privilege of having their Abuelita "Lita" Virginia make them girl and boy Dinosaur costumes! She is amazingly talented with her sewing and whipped these costumes up very quickly! We are so lucky to have a talented Grandma on both sides of our fam! We are always receiving the best homemade items! We also went to our ward halloween party at the church, so you will see a couple different painted faces, none were very successful but oh well! Ayden painted his own face most of the time! Oh well we had fun and the costumes were great! The kids were a little tired as the pics will show from all the hoopla! Lis is glad to breathe a bit before the next fun holiday! We love this winter feeling! Enjoy our halloween pics :) Love

New Boots!

We recently took a trip to the University mall so we could take the kids to play in the amazing Dinosaur/Treehouse play area. Its huge and tons of fun! Payless shoes was right next to it, so beforehand we bought Grecia a new pair of winter boots! She was utterly thrilled and insisted on putting them on right away! Ayden was so cute helping Grecia get on the slides and was more than happy to get his pants all wet on the water ball thingy! Needless to say it was a very fun Saturday! I've also added some extra random pics of the kids and I, as well as Grecia's day of independence in which she chose her own outfit: headband on head like a hippy, pink puffy jacket with matching pink tutu from Grandma Tresa! Ayden also got a new soccer goal this summer after his soccer team season ended. Enjoy :)

Halloween Countdown

Our dear friend Whelmar Greenland came up with the cutest Halloween countdown I've ever seen! We started on the 19th of October, and will continue to open 1 little door a day until the 31st! It's been a lot of fun and gives us great indoor activities to work on since it's getting so cold outside! I will list the 5 we've done so far, and will continue to post the rest as we go.
Day one: Read a Halloween story. We read "Clatter Bash" and "The Runaway Pumpkin"
Day two: Make a neat Halloween crat. We made Happy Halloween signs
Day three: Create a special mix of spooky tunes. We couldn't quite do this so we listened to spooky songs and watched "The nightmare before Christmas."
Day four: Take pictures of cool Halloween decorations in your neighborhood. Ayden and his "brothers" and I walked down the block by our house and took pics together in frront of the houses. There weren't many choices, but it worked and the boys had fun which is most important, right!? :)
Day five: Create your own Halloween cards. We made a Happy Halloween card for the Greenlands!

Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

I will be going backwards some days just to catch up, but to post something current, here are pics from our recent trip to the Farnsworth Pumpkin patch with our friends and neighbors the Greenlands! Ayden refers to these boys as his "brothers." This thrills him because he feels he finally has brothers like Daddy! This place was so much fun. They have a great pumpkin farm, homemade apple cider doughnuts, a free Charlie Brown movie in the park at dusk, and tons of fun booths for painting faces, "fishing," frisbee toss, bounce houses, etc. So needless to say a very fun night, and surprisingly inexpensive! Always love a good deal :)
